This flexible host and operational back office product consists of modules that can be deployed in conjunction with a roadside system, a commercial back office system, or as a standalone transaction/data processing platform. 

Unlike monolithic back offices, its containerized modules can be deployed in multiple combinations. Indra has deployed toll systems in approximately 20 countries, including the U.S., with multiple configurations of this modular OBO platform. 

It has been deployed on-premise and in the cloud (cloud agnostic).

Advancing in-vehicle tolling and nationwide interoperability

The latest tolling technology breakthrough, C-V2X Toll augments traditional toll systems by enabling connected vehicles to receive tolling information and pay directly through their in-vehicle systems.

As connected vehicle adoption increases, this solution will significantly reduce reliance on video enforcement and remove the need for mobile apps or external devices. The same hardware also supports safety applications. Our solution is currently in delivery for an extended operational pilot on a live roadway in North Carolina.

Interstate tolling in the U.S. relies on multiple regional hubs which have not yet achieved nationwide interoperability. Indra’s C-V2X tolling solution will enable true interoperability, by delivering toll information and historical data directly to drivers’ dashboards, irrespective of their location.

AI-powered enforcement for accurate passenger counts and reduced HOV violations

Our DAVAO system was developed to address high violation rates in high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes and the corresponding revenue loss suffered by high occupancy toll (HOT) operators.

Our precise, AI-based image analytics (Computer Vision) solution for automatic counting of occupants inside a vehicle minimizes violation rates in HOV and HOT lanes, empowers enforcement, and optimizes traffic throughput.

The VOD system detects the real number of passengers inside vehicles. Each HOV enforcement site uses dedicated commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) cameras and specialty illuminators on lateral and frontal above ground arrays. This state-of-the-art imaging technology captures high resolution images of vehicle interiors from multiple viewing angles, which have proven effective against common toll evasion tactics. 

The AI engine detects passengers in both frontal and lateral images, correlating the data to determine the final occupant count for each vehicle. By capturing multiple angles, the system ensures complete lane coverage, including middle lanes, and increases confidence in occupant detection accuracy.

A scalable, API-first platform handling 110M+ transactions daily

Indra Group USA's commercial back office is a multimodal platform that processes a cumulative 110M daily transactions globally in tolling, transit, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and other verticals. 

We deliver a modular account-based interoperable back office platform that uses open-source technologies in a cybersecurity-protected and scalable architecture. We are API-first, with a large library of existing APIs and open API integrability, and are able to accommodate non-API-ready third parties through customizable middleware as needed.
