We've been selected to lead the renewal of the Man-Portable TACtical Air Navigation (TACAN) systems (MPT) for the U.S. Air Force. These systems enable rapid deployment, operations in improvised airfields, and the restoration of navigation services after natural disasters or unforeseen events—ensuring mission-critical effectiveness even without GNSS or GPS signals.

Trusted DME partner of the FAA
As the sole provider of Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) to the FAA since 2011, we provide precise, reliable distance information vital to supporting safe and efficient aircraft takeoffs and landings.
Our technology is easy to operate and uses precise calculations of aircraft distance from a ground beacon to support safe approaches and area navigation. With multiple DME-DME installations, our systems also facilitate performance-based navigation (PBN), optimizing fuel efficiency on routes without relying on GPS service.

Very high frequency radio navigation
VOR, our ground-based navigation aid, operates in both Doppler (DVOR) and conventional (CVOR) configurations to provide accurate, reliable navigation that supports safe and efficient aircraft operations.
It calculates position by transmitting signals from a beacon to the aircraft. VOR also provides remote monitoring and control systems that allow operators to maximize efficiency in complex ecosystems.
TACtical Air Navigation systems for the future
We design TACAN systems for civil and military interoperability, delivering reliable distance and directional navigation in diverse operational environments. The dual-use technology provides flexibility between portable, fixed, and shipboard solutions.
With systems designed to handle deployment even in improvised or disaster-affected airfields, our Man Portable version is the most advanced and precise product on the market today, and our model 1120 TACAN shares 90% of its components with the only FAA-certified DME in production.
Safe and secure ADS-B radio technology
Indra Group USA designed, developed, and produced Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) radios for L3Harris’ Surveillance and Broadcast Services Contract. ADS-B has been the primary means of surveillance in the National Airspace System since 2021 and Indra has supported this critical FAA service for more than a decade, providing maintenance and support of ADS-B equipment required to deliver this safety critical service.
